Thanks for supporting local engineering and STEAM student groups at the Third Annual Engineering Showcase. Browse through the event highlights section to see the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics projects from the young, bright minds of Vancouver Island.
The student clubs have been working tirelessly to design and build innovative engineering projects for a chance to compete at a national and international level.
This year’s teams will be proudly showcasing the latest iterations of their ongoing projects:
AUVic is an interdisciplinary student club that builds an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) for the annual RoboSub competition in San Diego. Come and check out Polaris, their most recent AUV and discover the world of underwater and marine engineering.
The UVic Rocketry Team designs and builds competitive sounding rockets. The team earned first place at the Payload Challenge during the 2017 Spaceport America Cup. Meet local rocket engineers and see firsthand a full rocket assembly.
UVic Aero is a team of about 45 engineering students that design, build and test Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). They will be showcasing their unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone.
UVic Satellite Design consists of dedicated students passionate about space and nanosatellite technology. Meet the team currently participating in the Canadian Satellite Design Challenge (CSDC) and check out their competing satellite.
We want to express our sincerest gratitude to all the sponsors who made the 2019 Engineering Showcase possible. This event would not be possible without your incredible partnership. Thank you for your continued support and generosity.
Rainhouse will continue to strive to have STEM, and STEAM students recognized for their passion and vision.
See you next year!
