Dino’s tenure at Rainhouse is marked by his unwavering dedication to precision machining and his ability to tackle diverse projects with finesse. His journey as a machinist is a testament to his commitment to delivering top-notch quality in every task he undertakes.

We asked Dino a few questions to get to know him better, and here is what he had to say.

What do you do at Rainhouse?

I’m a Red Seal Journeyman Machinist with 25 years of experience.

What do you enjoy most about working at Rainhouse?

I love the diversity of projects we have here at Rainhouse.

What’s your favourite aspect of CNC machining?

The versatility. With CNC machining, there’s nothing we cannot make.

How was the process/journey to become a Red Seal machinist?

I began my apprenticeship in 1997 at a small tool and die shop in Edmonton AB. I attended the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (N.A.I.T) for my apprenticeship, which was a four-year program consisting of a mix of manual and CNC machining. Financially, it was challenging, especially since government grants weren’t available until 2004.

Becoming a Red Seal Journeyman Machinist was the best decision I ever made! I was very lucky and I have worked with some of the best in the business over my 25-year career, including the machinist here at Rainhouse! I have never met or worked with a more focused and dedicated group of machinists, they are all truly, second to none!!

What is something most people do not know about you?

Most people don’t know that I am a singer.

What is the ONE THING you cannot live without?

Feeling welcomed and accepted!
